Texas Health Brownsville

Types of Personal Insurance

There are four primary types of Texas Health Brownsville insurance: property/ casualty insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and government benefits. We will explore each of these in detail later but while we’re on the subject, let’s test the water.

Life insurance. Texas Health Brownsville, as you undoubtedly know, pays money, sometimes big money when the person whose life was insured “kicks the bucket,” “bites the dust,” “meets his Maker,” or whatever euphemism you prefer to use to describe the biological process of dying. Some forms of life insurance also act as a Texas Health Brownsville opportunity by accruing value as premiums are paid, value that can be borrowed against or chased in during the life if the insured. Because there are so many different types of Texas Health Brownsville insurance (term, whole life, mortgage, etc.), many people consider the subject beyond comprehension. But take heart, Part 5 should wipe those blues away.

Health insurance. Health insurance has become virtual necessity of life in the United States thanks to the astronomical cost of medical care and the relative paucity of government benefits in the field. Health insurance pays for items such as doctor bills, hospital expenses, and diagnostic test such as x rays. Disability insurance, which is sort of a hybrid between life and health coverage’s, pays the beneficiary for income lost due to a disabling injury or illness. Part 3 will consider various issues concerning health insurance.

Government benefits. The government is in the insurance game and in it in a big way. Medicare is a health insurance program mostly limited to those age 65 and over. Social Security, among other benefits, provides a form of income insurance (somewhat akin to an annuity) that guarantees a basic level of benefits in return for payments (taxes) paid during working years. Some government entities sell insurance. Others help pay for the cost of Texas Health Brownsville insurance that would otherwise be unavailable or cost prohibitive. Parts 6 and 7 will describe many of these government plans and benefits in detail.
